As with other Instant Messaging solutions, messages are sent
live to other users. It's got the benefit of email, but with extra
speed and less formality.
Strong Association
When a discussion is started, it is given a subject and is
specifically associated with a client, project or task. This way it
is easy to locate discussions for future reference. If there are
any discussions already underway for a given item, it is shown in a
quick-access list.
Watch and Wait
Anyone can 'watch' discussions regarding a client or project,
for example. Whenever a discussion is started or further
conversation has taken place, it becomes indicated in the personal
'inboxes' of those who are watching.
Invitations
If during a discussion you feel that someone currently not
involved would benefit, they can be added as a 'watcher' of the
discussion in question. If they then decide that they aren't
interested, they can choose to 'unwatch' the discussion.
